A pit and a pendulum.

Using a borrowed fancy laptop, a couple of news stories for you:

  • The Klan hates homosexuals? Never! Apparently the Klan in Texas is planning a rally in support of an upcoming anti-gay marriage amendment. I'm shocked...really. There is, however, the following quote, coming from a minister in Texas:

"[Pastor Ryan] Rush said that a group that would come in that is characterized as hateful and bigoted is not welcome in this city."

Huh. Maybe you shouldn't be supporting a hateful, bigoted amendment. Just a guess.

  • ConocoPhillips Oil profits up 89%. Hrm. I'm proud to say I live in a country where the businesses that exist here don't take advantage of a situation that they indirectly helped to cause (degree of indirectness open to interpretation, of course). Oh, wait.

  • Oddly enough, both of these stories came to me when I was reading the Drudge Report. What's next--loving profiles of Eugene Debs on Ann Coulter's website?

    More another time.

She will feed you tomatoes and radio wires.

So hockey season has started. Normally I'd be ecstatic, checking stats and (shudder) message boards, listening to games constantly (what with the no cable--not that that would necessarily help, what with the television contract for the NHL being with the fucking Outdoor Life Network, for chrissakes), etc., etc.

But the Blues are destined to suck for at least the first couple of months, at least until the (hopefully) free-spending new owner gets us some actual hockey players. So I can't bring myself to pay attention for the time being. I do hope to be proven wrong, but still...

So I'm sure you're asking "Bill, why aren't you out doing things on a Saturday night? You have money in your wallet, and a belly full of fire [not really, but that always sounds cool]." But we had a good party last night, I quit the second job, and so I spent today walking a decent amount and otherwise appreciating a weekend. I'm proud.

And I had something to post about, and for the life of me, I forgot. So instead I'm going to find a certain something to help Niki on a project, and try to learn something on the guitar.

Cookie alert on the title. No google.
